‘The Kellys’: Geena Davis Joins Amazon MGM Action Film (EXCLUSIVE)

EXCLUSIVE: Academy Award winner Geena Davis has inked a deal to join The Kellys, Amazon MGM’s new action film from director Brad Peyton and Thunder Road Films.

No word yet on the role to be played by Davis. She joins an ensemble that includes Arnold Schwarzenegger, Liam Hemsworth, Kelsey Asbille, and Abby Elliott.

Written by Peyton and Tze Chun, The Kellys follows Jack Kelly, a disgraced NYC cop whose wife, Molly, is taken hostage by terrorists inside an old armory building. He’ll have to join forces with the people he fears most to save her: His family.

Earlier this week, we reported exclusively on Amazon MGM’s acquisition of the project for streaming. It’ll ultimately be made available on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

Known for her work in iconic films like The Accidental Tourist, Thelma & Louise, and A League of Their Own, Davis has most recently been seen starring alongside Alfred Molina, Alfre Woodard, Denis O’Hare, and Clarke Peters in Netflix’s sci-fi adventure mystery The Boroughs. Created by Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews, and executive produced by The Duffer Brothers, the show premiered on May 21.

In film, Davis’ most recent credits include Zoë Kravitz’s lauded directorial debut Blink Twice and the Sofia Coppola-produced Fairyland. Next up is The Wrong Girls, a stoner comedy for Neon, where she stars alongside Kristen Stewart, Alia Shawkat, Seth Rogen, LaKeith Stanfield, and more.
