The Brigands Of Rattlecreek Cast Adds Adèle Exarchopoulos (EXCLUSIVE)

EXCLUSIVE: Adèle Exarchopoulos is set for a role in The Brigands of Rattlecreek, Park Chan-wook’s Western for Warner Bros. Clockwork.

In what is said to be a substantial role, Exarchopoulos will be playing the wife of Austin Butler’s character. This marks her second new project announced in two weeks on the heels of Apple’s mystery film from My Old Ass helmer Megan Park, where she stars opposite Zoë Kravitz. That project marks the decorated French actress’ first lead role in an American studio film.

The Brigands of Rattlecreek follows a sheriff and a doctor who seek revenge against a group of bandits who use the cover of a torrential thunderstorm to rob and terrorize the occupants of a small town.

Previously announced cast members, in addition to Butler, include Matthew McConaughey, Pedro Pascal and Tang Wei.

Park directs from a script by Bone Tomahawk‘s S. Craig Zahler on which he has completed revisions. Bradley Fischer is producing alongside Park for Moho Film. Exec producers include Back Jisun Back for Moho Film, Mike Medavoy, Georgia Kacandes and Patrick Wachsberger. Warner Bros. is set to release the film in the U.S. and Canada.

Known for the romantic drama Blue Is the Warmest Color, with which she became Cannes’ youngest Palme d’Or winner — an award she shared with filmmaker Abdellatif Kechiche and co-star Léa Seydoux — Exarchopoulos will next be seen in the films Garance (Another Day) and Orange-Flavoured Wedding (Mariage au goût d’orange), which release in France on Sept. 23 and Dec. 9, respectively. She is repped by UTA, Adequat in France, and Nour Abdelnour and Youssef at Marquis.
