‘Insidious 6’ Director Jacob Chase Sets ‘Sleepover’ For 2027 Release

Blumhouse Atomic Monster will continue to be in business with their Insidious: Out of the Further filmmaker Jacob Chase on the upcoming Universal large scale horror pic, Sleepover.

The pic will hit theaters on Oct. 8, 2027; Uni already having that date on reserve for an untitled Blumhouse Atomic Monster pic.

The news comes in the wake of Insidious: Out of the Further opening to a great $60.3M worldwide this past weekend (that pic released via Sony Screen Gems and Stage 6), taking the 16-year old PG-13 horror franchise to $800M at the global box office.

Chase will direct off a screenplay he co-write with Night Swim‘s Bryce McGuire, which is based on the latter’s original short story. Project is billed as the “quintessential sleepover nightmare”. Jason Blum is producing. Chase, McGuire and Bea Sequeira will serve as executive producers.

Lilly Tyson is overseeing the project for Blumhouse Atomic Monster. Sleepover is a Cinescape Entertainment production, presented by Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Atomic Monster.

Chase is represented by CAA, Gang, Tyre, Ramer, Brown & Passman, and The Initiative Group.

McGuire is represented by Gersh and Ziffren Brittenham.
