Celebrity makeup artist Emma White Turle explains that “mature skin can tend to be more dehydrated and so cream products can work better on this skin,” as they blend more seamlessly and sit comfortably without emphasising dryness. Equally important is knowing what to steer clear of. According to White Turle, “if your skin tends to have surface dryness, then I’d avoid powder bronzers and also those that have a lot of shimmer or sparkle to them.” These textures can cling to dry areas and draw attention to uneven skin tone or fine lines.
